3 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (Aug 12)

Ups...

3. Beardhausen

Danhausen Erick Redbeard Beardhausen
AEW

Very daft, very evil.

"Beardhausen" was lots of fun though, and it was totally harmless. Teaming Erick Redbeard with the quirky Danhausen had that 'odd couple' magic that wrestling loves so much, and the pair did the honours for a much more serious duo. It's hard to pick holes in any of this.

Austin and Colten Gunn needed that victory way more than Danhausen and a part-timer like Redbeard. Yours truly is glad that AEW didn't sacrifice a promising young tag-team to a short-lived novelty act that won't be full-time anyway. That was defo the right call.

The assist from Billy Gunn, and his post-match promo setting up more to come on Dynamite, furthers The Gunn Club's story too. They needed that, because it would've been a disaster for them had they lost to some part-time ex-WWE guy and his weird little one-off mate.
