3 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Rampage (Sept 15)

Ups...

3. An Entertaining Sprint

Lucha Bros and The Hardys vs. Jeff Jarrett, Jay Lethal, The Butcher and The Blade was a lot of fun. It was predictably silly chaos and the ref was a non-factor, but that's easier to stomach in an eight-man tag setting than in a standard tag match. There's a lot of moving parts to distract, so it's more believable that a ref would lose control.

Everybody seemed to be having the time of their lives too.

Jarrett and Lethal were pure sports entertainment, The Lucha Bros got their usual high-flying spots in, and everyone else was pretty much there to make up the numbers. That's not a criticism, by the way - Matt and Jeff Hardy, for example, don't need to do too much to be effective these days.

Entertaining sprint would sum it up. Eight mans (and trios when they're not criminally brief) are ideal for Rampage. They're honestly the kind of bouts fans would want to see when tuning into the Friday night hour, and this was a good 'un you should check out if Rey Fenix flying around is your thing.
