3 Ups & 7 Downs For WWE Raw (18 Aug - Results & Review)

1. ‘Baby Uso’

WWE Raw Adam Pearce Naomi
WWE

Leave it to Naomi to just start hitting her stride as a character, only to have it all put on pause, and then cut a tremendous promo on her way out for “nine months and change.”

Naomi announced that she is pregnant – which was treated as happy news by Raw GM Adam Pearce – but rather than break character and just hand over the title, Naomi lit into Pearce and chased him off as she reminded him that she relinquished a title once before (hmmm, which title could that possibly be?) and she wasn’t giving him s**t.

The outgoing Women’s World Champion said the women in the back should be thanking her husband Jimmy Uso and his desire to “Netflix and chill,” because she was about to dog-walk the division for the rest of the year. Naomi mused that, as a positive, the Bloodline will continue to grow.

Naomi then said she was going to lay the title down and give “you heffers nine months and change” to do whatever they want with her title, but even if she has to come back breastfeeding with her child in her arms, she was going to pick up where she left off.

Fantastic promo from Naomi that also subverted expectations of a title relinquishment. Normally, you’d see a tearful wrestler willingly hand over their championship and wave goodbye. Instead, we saw a defiant Naomi inform the women’s roster that they were just renting her title while she’s out, effectively warning them to (yes, incoming catchphrase cliché) proceed with caution.

Congratulations to Naomi and Jimmy!
