3 Ups And 12 Downs From WWE Raw (Sept 21)

2. The EST Gets A Strong Video Package

It’s really a shame that WWE didn’t start doing this months ago.

When Bianca Belair debuted on Raw after WrestleMania 36, she seemed pegged for stardom. As solid as she had been as a heel at times, her natural charisma, with small character tweaks, worked really well as a babyface. She could easily be a serious challenger for the Raw Women’s Championship if built up properly.

So naturally, she stayed in the background for months, only existing as Montez Ford’s wife. Because WWE.

Monday, however, they aired a promo video of Belair in the Performance Center gym, competing in a series of feats of strength: pullups, tire flips, deadlifts, and walking on her hands. It was an impressive showing, and it played into Bianca’s tagline as the EST of WWE. This was the strongEST on display, and you can just imagine future videos showcasing other superlative qualities to get her over.

Now, if WWE can actually do something they haven’t in forever and really follow through, they might have something here. A Raw Women’s Championship match between Belair and Asuka at Royal Rumble or even WrestleMania 37 could be a show-stealer.
