3 Ups And 12 Downs From WWE Raw (Sept 21)

1. Braun Is Back

Braun Strowman

On the one hand, WWE spent weeks building Dabba-Kato up as this unbeaten pitfighter, a raw but aggressive brawler who has manhandled his opponents in the ropeless ring.

But after Braun Strowman knocked him silly Monday night, you have to wonder if all of that was for nought. DK lost to a former Universal Champion, so there’s no shame in that, and if he just starts wrecking people again next week to reclaim his mantle as alpha male, then he should be OK.

While we could pile on and make this another negative, we’ll give positive marks in the hopes that the reason for this happening was to reset Strowman after the abysmal feud with The Fiend. Braun’s title reign was a disaster, and he desperately needs to either reassert himself or reinvent himself.

Getting back to what made him popular in the first place – beating people up and putting on freakish displays of strength – can’t hurt. He might never be a world title contender again, but having him wreck Dabba-Kato at least showed that Braun is still a tough guy that the company values.
