It's been a wild couple of weeks for Smackdown. Two weeks ago, the Wild Card Finals episode of the show closed out 2016 in great fashion, with three big title matches - including American Alpha's victory for the Smackdown Tag Team Titles. Last week, another good show saw Dean Ambrose start off 2017 by beating The Miz for the Intercontinental Championship.

This week's Smackdown stood to be another big show - not only was John Cena back in action, taking on Baron Corbin in the main event, but American Alpha were defending the tag titles against The Wyatt Family in a rematch. Would the show be able to continue its hot streak?

Not exactly. While this week's Smackdown wasn't bad (the American Alpha-Wyatt Family match was a major step in the right direction), it wasn't as much fun as the last few episodes were. The booking left something to be desired, and the wrestling was good, but not great. It could be better, but it could also be worse. Still, the build for the Royal Rumble was in full effect, and that's important.

Here are 3 ups and 3 downs from January 10's episode of Raw:
