3 Ups And 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (July 9)

2. Rusev Returns To Action Wearing Shoes

A man's footwear during matches usually isn't a major topic of discussion, but when the guy is coming off a foot injury that sidelined him for about two months then it's worth talking about. WWE has done a good job in making some changes to Rusev's act by having him ditch Lana, putting him with Summer Rae, going back to being a Bulgarian instead of a Russian and now wearing those black shoes to prevent further injuries from happening. He had a dominant win over Fandango with "hot Summer" (his name for her) at his side. What was great is that in the past when he put on The Accolade submission it was Lana that told him to stop it. Instead of doing that, Summer was smiling about it as if the pain of another man was a turn on for her. Plus, she had a history with Fandango, so it made sense that she would enjoy it. By the way, remember when Fandango turned and people thought that maybe this would be a good thing for him because a lot of people cheered him? Well, it's not really working out. Good thing for him is WWE rarely fires performers that they barely use these days. It's not his fault he's saddled with a terrible gimmick.
