38 Wrestlers Who Died In 2025
13. Tomohiko Hashimoto (5 August)
Former star of DDT Pro-Wrestling, Tomohiko Hashimoto, tragically lost his fight against liver cancer on 5 August, just two months after the disease returned to force him out of remission. He was 47.
An ex-judoka, Hashimoto took up professional wrestling in 2000, training first under Koichiro Kimura and subsequently at the DDT Dojo, the academy to the accompanying promotion that awarded him his career apex. A three-time KO-D Tag Team Champion, Tomohiko was also a renowned tag team tournament participant, winning three distinct brackets across his six-year stay.
Beyond DDT, Hashimoto competed for various spry upstarts, including his own Pro-Wrestling A-Team, while also being a former mixed martial arts fighter, a career he took up while still competing for DDT. It isn't a journey worth discussing, however: he mustered just one victory across five fights, losing the other four all in the first round.
