4 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Rampage (Nov 20)

Downs...

2. A Senseless Kickout

Darby Allin Billy Gunn
AEW

Surely Darby Allin's Coffin Drop finish is more important than Rampage's opening match getting some random near fall at the end for the sake of it? That's a question this guy is asking after watching the senseless visual of Billy Gunn kicking out before one after taking Allin's move.

What the f*ck were they thinking here?

This shouldn't have happened. Granted, it didn't outright kill the match (more on that later), but it still shouldn't have happened. Why would AEW view Gunn powering out of the Coffin Drop like it was a mild tap as the way to go? Way to shatter the finisher's credibility.

Personally, yours truly detests when wrestlers kick out of any finish before a long two count. It's hard to defend that sort of thing, especially when AEW's announcers will pretend that Darby's trust fall spot is one of the promotion's most dangerous again by next week.
