4 Ups & 2 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (Aug 24)

1. Down - Quite Painful

The show closed with one more match, one which was set up on NXT a couple of weeks ago - TM-61 versus The Authors of Pain.

Besides the fact that The Authors of Pain now have individual names (Gzim Selmani is Rezar, while Sunny Dhinsa is Akam), there wasn't much of note in this match. TM-61 did their best, working in front of the largest crowd of their short WWE careers, but The Authors really couldn't put on much of a show. To be fair, they actually are improving - their offense doesn't look as weak and they haven't been getting blown up as easily - but it's still discouraging to see a far more talented tandem on the losing end of the equation.

Given that the reigning Tag Team Champions are heels, it might have made sense to build up a babyface tag team as challengers. Instead, The Authors of Pain look like the only other strong team coming out of TakeOver. If they're going to take on The Revival, expect a sharp decrease in the quality of title matches.
