4 Ups & 2 Downs From This Week's Impact Wrestling (Sep 20)
Ups...
4. New Blood
The Knockouts division right now is mainly centred around Tessa Blanchard, Allie, and Su Yung. Aside from them though, there are some other stars rising up the ranks, one of which is Alisha Edwards.
It was refreshing to see these names that we wouldn't usually see get a spotlight. Nothing wrong with Tessa and all the others of course, but it's never a bad thing to give the air time to those lower down the card to build them up. Once the current title angle is finished, whoever the champion may be will need some new challengers.
Despite being embroiled in the intense saga between Sami Callihan and husband Eddie, Alisha has shown she's more than just a wife. Her opponent this week is a name very familiar to Mexican audiences, Faby Apache. Edwards has the potential to be a future Knockouts Champion at some stage down the line. If Impact keep letting her show off her in-ring skills and don't just use her as a side act, they may have a new star in the making.
She actually lost the match this week which you most likely couldn't tell from that paragraph, but give it time to have her be built up and she'll be on the same level as the top names in Impact.
