4 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (Jan 13)

1. The Workhorse Champion

Darby Allin
AEW

Score another cracking TNT Title defence for Darby Allin.

Being brutally honest, this probably wasn't his or Juice Robinson's best work, but it was still high quality and did get the job done. Also, although AEW fans have always been impressed by Darby since day one, there is something building here with his latest reign as TNT Champ.

He's on a roll of strong performances and wins, and seems to be a weekly highlight on programming these days. Long may that continue, because All Elite originals like Allin should be getting loads of TV time. His babyface comebacks and Coffin Drop finishes always get a pop from live crowds too.

Sting coming out at the end and Darby's smile suggests AEW plans to put short-term tension between the pair on ice for now. That's smart, but it'd be amazing to see Allin work the icon's last match if he is going to retire in 2023.
