4 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (June 30)

1. Bridge The Gap A Bit Better

Yes, Rampage has been pushed into the background further by Collision's arrival, but that doesn't mean Tony Khan gets a pass when he elects to scribble matches down on a napkin without any attempt to tell stories. if nothing else, Friday nights should be a haven for 'B' or 'C' level feuds to shine.

Don't miss easy open goals either. It felt like a missed opportunity when Eddie Kingston didn't sprint out to get in Claudio Castagnoli's face (or even simply roll out to eyeball him after their staring contest recently), for example. Christ, the camera panned to show the entrance in the background and everything.

Last week, MJF and Adam Cole were on the show, which honestly seemed like Rampage was taking one giant step towards more cohesion. This episode ditched that in favour of decent-to-good matches. That's fine, but story is what will keep punters coming back for more week-after-week.

Let's get some more angles that echo what's happening on Dynamite and Collision.
