4 Ups & 4 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (July 25)

2. A Scrappy Tag Match

This week’s SmackDown wasn’t a terrible show by any stretch of the word, but it was marred by a handful of bad segments. The Charlotte & Becky Lynch vs. Tamina & Lana tag match was comfortably the worst of the bunch. The babyface tandem are great, but they got nothing out of their opponents, and it now looks as though the Lana/Tamina combination is already falling apart.

This wasn’t pretty to watch. Tamina botched taking a kick early on, and looked extremely sloppy while fighting with Becky, despite the fact that she’s been on WWE television for 7 years. 'The Ravishing Russian' was no better herself, and her inexperience shone through every time she was in the ring, with the duo’s heat segment falling particularly flat.

Fortunately, the debacle was over in four minutes when Lana tagged herself in, ate a big boot, and was pinned by Charlotte. Tamina was furious afterwards, and shouted Lana down post-match. They’ve only been allies for a couple of weeks, but it looks like they’re already being split up, which begs the question of why they were put together in the first place. A total waste of time all round.
