4 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (June 3)

Behold the next step towards Riddle's main event push.

Sami Zayn revealed himself as the one who played Roman Reigns' entrance track during the headline tag match; that distracted Riddle and left him open to attack from The Usos. This wasn't a completely fresh idea, but it was a fun way to excuse Riddle's defeat and push his story along.

It's a neat use of Sami's skills too. Having him play gatekeeper for The Bloodline (who are blatantly using Zayn) is fine, and this will all lead to a heated match between Riddle and the wannabe faction member on TV soon. Nobody should have any problems with that.

Beating Sami in a series of singles bouts will help prep Riddle for Reigns at Money In The Bank. That's obviously assuming that WWE wants to put the stoner in a title match on that show instead of the titular ladder match. Either way, this week's SmackDown enhanced his main event prospects.
