4 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Hall Of Fame 2018

2. Goldberg Sinks

"Who's next?" Goldberg asked, as the night finally drew to a close. The answer, thank the heavens, was nobody.

Poor Goldberg never had a chance. Big Bill's a lovely bloke, but he's definitely best in short bursts, and he couldn't possibly lift a zombified audienced for one last push as the show entered its fourth hour. Visibly nervous, Goldberg struggled to stay on track during the closer, and died on his arse as he fumbled through proceedings. The Oklahoman's story simply isn't compelling, and though he spun it into a tale about accepting where he belongs, it was hard to pretend that didn't come with several barrels full of cash.

In total, Goldberg's speech ran longer than every match during his final in-ring run combined. And it seemed like WWE had learned their lesson about the man's strengths.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
