4 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw (July 12)

1. Beating The Champ

Xavier Woods beat Bobby Lashley clean as a whistle to kick off the show. Kofi Kingston, who was at ringside cheering on his New Day brethren, didn't get involved even once. Work that one out! Now, the reigning WWE Champ just looks like a dude who takes his eye off the ball.

Lashley can rip Xavier a new one inside HIAC, but he can't tear his limbs off in a standard wrestling match? This writer isn't a fan of that, and he doesn't like that Woods nabbed one of those trusty "surprise roll ups" to score the win either. That, to elaborate on an earlier whinge, doesn't exactly do anything for either wrestler.

So much for Bob being the "Almighty".

The Champ needed to come across as some unscalable mountain for Kofi heading into MITB. Instead, he's an easily-distracted idiot who can't kick out of roll ups. WWE sort of rescued things later in the show, but this was a questionable way to get the night started.
