Finally, RETRIBUTION got a win under its collective belts on Monday night when Mustafa Ali defeated Ricochet in a competitive, entertaining match.

The former friends battled back and forth, hitting highspots left and right, with Ali nailing a backstabber from the top rope, and Ricochet hitting a reverse spike rana and countering a tornado DDT with a Northern Lights suplex and brainbuster. In the end, Ricochet had Ali laid out, but dove to take out the rest of RETRIBUTION, giving Ali time to dodge a Phoenix splash and lock in a Koji Clutch for the win.

This is exactly what RETRIBUTION should have been doing from the start: winning competitive matches. Beating other talented wrestlers after having terrorized them for months. Had they come out of the gate showcasing their skills and winning, they might have been a decent faction.

Instead, they’ve just left us with the image of losers who deliver crappy promos.
