4 Ups & 7 Downs From WWE Raw (June 6)

Ups…

4. Lashley Takes No Guff

Knowing what’s next for Bobby Lashley wasn’t quite on the plate Monday night, as the former world champion tried to address his next steps after winning his handicap match at Hell in a Cell.

However, Lashley was interrupted by United States Champion Theory, who accused him of stealing his spotlight. This unwise move led Lashley to challenge the champ for his title, which Theory rejected. The brash superstar then tried to take a selfie with Bobby, but the All Mighty simply booted him out of the ring, telling him to “take a walk, kid.”

It’s obvious WWE wants big things for Lashley, even if it’s just a flavor of the month for Roman Reigns at a PLE this summer. They’re clearly positioning himself for a run at or near the top of the card, which is fine by us. And even though it went nowhere, the banter with Theory was fine, because it put both men front and center, and set up a possible title match that could work.

By no means was this a home run, but seeing Lashley keep Theory in check while looking to the future was a nice indicator about how WWE is hopefully going to continue pushing him.
