4 Ups And 10 Downs From WWE Raw (Dec 27)

4. Leftover Goo

WWE Raw The Miz Maryse

During the Pandemic Era, WWE loved to use prop “comedy” on Raw, oftentimes utilizing some form of slime or goo to cover wrestlers.

Apparently, they must’ve had some left over and wanted to use it before it expired, because they closed out Miz & Maryse’s wedding vow renewal ceremony with Edge doing a “Broodbath” (that’s what they’ve called it before) and dumping gallons of black goo on the happy couple.

It wasn’t offensive or insanely stupid, but it was just pointless. The feud has revolved around a lot of different stuff, but there’s been no tieback to Edge’s earliest days in WWF/E. This was just the way a person with a 12-year-old’s mentality would ruin a ceremony, so that’s what they did.

It didn’t make you want to see Edge versus Miz at Day 1 any more than you already did (or didn’t). It didn’t build the feud or end it on a high note. It just was messy. Woo.
