4 Ups And 2 Downs From Last Night's WWE Smackdown (Nov 29)
Ups...
4. Table Time
The show opened up with a contract signing between Smackdown Women's Champion Becky Lynch and number one contender Alexa Bliss. The two have been feuding for months, and this was their last face-to-face showdown before the TLC PPV.
The interplay between the two competitors was great. Becky is a fantastic babyface, and while Bliss is a great heel, it doesn't always translate into her promos. This time, though, she was firing on all cylinders, eventually making the champion so mad that she punched Bliss in the face.
The two women continued to fight, with Becky eventually incapacitating Bliss and placing her on the top turnbuckle. She pulled over the table and attempted an Exploder suplex off the top, but Bliss blocked it and shoved Becky backward through the table.
Not only was this a well-crafted segment with good performances, but it also made for an organic way to turn the Women's Championship bout into a tables match. Booking like this is why so many fans prefer Smackdown to Raw.
