NXT continues to shame its more well-known older brother with its treatment of the female wrestler. When was the last time that a wrestling programme aired that had an equal number of male and female wrestling matches? Especially in mainstream wrestling, fans would be hard pressed to think of a single time that's ever happened. Considering that women make up the slight majority of the world's population, and NXT's women's division has more than enough stars to stack half a card, it's deeply gratifying to see it actually happen. Alexa Bliss faced off against Carmella in a well-booked contest. Bliss emerged victorious with a Sparkle Splash after the Hottest Chick In The Ring was distracted by Blake and Murphy, which served both women well, especially after Carmella took to the mic with possibly her best promo to date. Sasha Banks also saw action against an unnamed rookie - actual name KC Cassidy. Perhaps they haven't decided her name and don't want to have people think she's related to Colin Cassady, or maybe they don't want people to remember her name next to a decisive loss. Either way, it was strong showing for Banks, wrenching her opponent with the Bank Statement, showing herself to be more than ready for Lynch's challenge next week.
