There's a huge question mark over the head of Hideo Itami right now. There have been multiple reports from reputable sources like PWInsider that Hideo Itami suffered a severe shoulder injury at an NXT live event, and could miss 6-8 months of action while he heals. While Sami Zayn's injury has been addressed on the show (more on that later) WWE have been absolutely silent regarding Itami. This could potentially be explained as WWE not wanting to mess with the product they're putting out there, as Hideo wrestled still fit and healthy on last night's NXT, which was taped a few weeks ago. Perhaps WWE doesn't want to confuse real and taped timelines, and that's fair, but even Itami's twitter has been deathly silent. The sooner they can inform the fans as to what's going on then the sooner people can wish Itami well, and the sooner they can build hype for a new #1 Contender's match. One has to assume it'll be a one-on-one match between Breeze and Balor, but perhaps WWE can surprise the fans, maybe by promoting Solomon Crowe to replace Itami (unlikely, everything considered) or even by flying in Adrian Neville to add star power. Either way, in order to prevent confusion draining anticipation from next Wednesday's big event, WWE need to clear things up, and quickly.
