4 Ups And 4 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (June 4)
3. No Divas Match In Three Out Of The Last Four Weeks On Smackdown
You know that "give Divas a chance" phrase that WWE sometimes likes to say? They're really not giving them any chance on this show in the last month. There was no divas match this week just like there wasn't a divas match on the May 14 or May 21 edition of Smackdown. Last week was a three minute special with Paige beating Naomi. It's a shame that WWE has three hours of Raw and two hours of Smackdown every week yet they're unable to find a way to put some divas in a match. They air so many replays of things that happened on Raw or stuff from earlier in the show, yet they refuse to put out new content by allowing their female performers to actually have a match. There was even a two minute commercial with WWE stars shilling Sonic milkshakes just like on Raw that could have been used for an actual match. Paige's promo was fine because it hinted at some new divas coming up from NXT in the near future to take down the Bella Twins, who by the way turn so much that even they probably can't remember if they are faces or heels at this point. It was on the stage, but it really could have been backstage prior to a match. Instead, she just left even though she was in her ring gear. The problem with WWE's booking of the divas is they will put them out there to complain about how they are mean or that the women in the division aren't given a chance, yet they are reluctant to actually let them wrestle, which is the whole point about giving them a chance.
