5 Biggest Winners & Losers From WWE SmackDown Live (Oct 11)

3. The Miz

The Miz didn’t just lose his Intercontinental Championship on Sunday: he also lost a huge chunk of pride. He’ll never admit it onscreen, but Miz’s ego took a huge dent at No Mercy. Having spent the past month rubbing Dolph Ziggler’s apparent “loveable loser” status in his face, Miz was defeated in an epic match, and he effectively became everything he’d claimed Ziggler was.

Naturally, Miz wasn’t best pleased on last night’s SmackDown. He and Maryse interrupted Ziggler’s in-ring promo to mourn the death of the Intercontinental Championship. Miz claimed that having Ziggler as champion was a funeral for the belt’s legacy, and that while he’d made it SD’s most prestigious belt, Ziggler’s mediocrity destroyed it’s value.

It was another strong performance from Miz, but he was soon left embarrassed. Ziggler turned the tables on the former champion by mocking him for crying at No Mercy, instigating a “you were crying” chat from the fans, and subjecting the A-Lister to everything Miz had put him through over the past month.

Miz, of course, sprung the trap with the Spirit Squad, but Ziggler was able to overcome them once again. A failed post-match attack saw Miz and his harem ran off by Heath Slater & Rhyno, compounding another miserable night for the former IC champ.
