5 Major Mistakes WWE Made With The Superstar Shake-up

2. Boots To Lasses

Becky Lynch
WWE

Becky Lynch has been the quiet cornerstone of SmackDown Live!'s inconsistent women's division since the shows first broke apart in mid-2016.

As inaugural Women's Champion, safe pair of hands and all round good egg, the 'Irish Lass Kicker' was never not assured if a little underwhelming as a spunky babyface without strong heels. When she finally encountered one in Alexa Bliss, 'The Goddess' was unfortunately too good at being bad. Lynch faced off with a better Sports Entertainer and lost, and was shunted back down to just being a great wrestler for the remainder of the year alongside eventual new blue brand leader Charlotte.

Though always over with audiences, she never returned to such heights, and could have injected much-needed life into a Raw women's division still on life support thanks to months of abysmal booking.

A swap with either Bayley or Sasha would have actually been the ideal - keeping the Four Horsewomen apart allows for the eventual buzz of a Shield/3MB-esque potential reunion. Though frozen for now, the four are anything but fresh in their roles, and just as likely to go stale as they are to get reheated.
