5 Reasons AEW Should Sign Cesaro AEW (& 5 Reasons They Shouldn’t)
3. Reason He Should: Deft Booking
Let’s not forget how great Tony Khan is at all of this. “TK” is far from faultless but he’s a good enough booker that much of AEW’s first three years have been engrossing and exhilarating. He knows which guys to pair together and can manage deftly dovetailing stories where every player feels important.
He also doesn’t have Vince McMahon’s weird disdain for managers or friends so we could easily see Cesaro paired with a great talker.
Or imagine if Cesaro gets that aforementioned feud with Eddie Kingston. “The Mad King” could cut fire promos to build the match with Cesaro by contrast playing a silent wrestling assassin who just wrecks people every week.
Having earned each other’s respect in the ring, the pair could team up to win tag team gold. Suddenly, Cesaro has a belt over his shoulder, a massively over talker at his side and matches against The Young Bucks, The Luchre Bros, FTR, (possibly) Danielson and Moxley and more.
That’s just one idea and no doubt Tony Khan has a better one. Pretty much every former “WWE guy” is more over now than they were in Stamford so maybe it’s time to trust the process and believe that if Tony Khan decides to pick up Cesaro he’s not going to fail him.
