5 Shinsuke Nakamura Matches You Simply Must See

2. Vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi - NJPW G1 Climax Finals 2015

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x323jyf For the entirety of the 2015 edition of the G1 Climax, it seemed as though Nakamura was destined to win the whole thing. He suffered an arm injury early on but still came through his pool, before coming up against Hiroshi Tanahashi in the finals. Nakamura had been kept away from the IWGP World title for some time, and it felt as though he was finally going to get back in the saddle. This didn't happen however, as LOLTANAWINS struck again. In hindsight it was the right story to tell, and the match the two put on in the finals to get there was as well put together as any wrestling match in recent memory. Tanahashi is a fantastic big match performer and has been for a long time, and seeing two modern legends of the sport go at it for a shot at the biggest prize in their company brought expected results. Tanahashi focused his attack on the legs of Nakamura, hoping to remove his ability to deliver that vicious Boma Ye strike, where as Shinsuke attacked Hiroshi's arm in the hope of setting up his armbar submission. The work was intricate, and the pacing was particularly impressive. They started slow, built up through the centre portion of the match and put together a truly thrilling climax. It took two High Fly Flows, but Tanahashi was eventually able to put Nakamura away.
