5 Things Tony Khan's "Major" AEW Announcement Could Be

3. An AEW Streaming Service

While $4.99 per month will get you access to AEW Plus on FITE, one natural progression for All Elite Wrestling at some point down the line is to develop its own integrated streaming service to house main AEW programming and additional content.

In reality, such a service is likely a good few years away from happening, but that doesn't mean it's impossible to rule out this being part of Tony Khan's upcoming announcement.

FITE is great, but one gripe many have with the service is that there's no app for certain brands of smart TVs or gaming systems that allows for content to be watched in all its glory on your TV screen. Sure, a Fire Stick can come in handy on that front, yet some potential FITE subscribers are put off by how there's not as much ease of access as the WWE Network, Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, etc.

Granted, not all organisations have the vast resources and time in the field as the likes of WWE Network and Netflix, but that still doesn't take away from the fact that AEW and FITE would have more eyes on them if there was an app that was more widely accessible.

All episodes of Dynamite, Rampage, Dark, Dark: Elevation and company PPVs are archived on FITE, but an all-out AEW-owned streaming service would offer the opportunity to create so much more unique non-in-ring content.

Once described as the Swiss Army Knife of WhatCulture, Andrew can usually be found writing, editing, or presenting on a wide range of topics. As a lifelong wrestling fan, horror obsessive, and comic book nerd, he's been covering those topics professionally as far back as 2010. In addition to his current WhatCulture role of Senior Content Producer, Andrew previously spent nearly a decade as Online Editor and Lead Writer for the world's longest-running genre publication, Starburst Magazine, and his work has also been featured on BBC, TechRadar, Tom's Guide, WhatToWatch, Sportkskeeda, and various other outlets, in addition to being a Rotten Tomatoes-approved film critic. Between his main dayjob, his role as the lead panel host of Wales Comic Con, and his gig as a pre-match host for Wrexham AFC games, Andrew has also carried out a hugely varied amount of interviews, from the likes of Robert Englund, Kane Hodder, Adrienne Barbeau, Rob Zombie, Katharine Isabelle, Leigh Whannell, Bruce Campbell, and Tony Todd, to Kevin Smith, Ron Perlman, Elijah Wood, Giancarlo Esposito, Simon Pegg, Charlie Cox, the Russo Brothers, and Brian Blessed, to Kevin Conroy, Paul Dini, Tara Strong, Will Friedle, Burt Ward, Andrea Romano, Frank Miller, and Rob Liefeld, to Bret Hart, Sting, Mick Foley, Ricky Starks, Jamie Hayer, Britt Baker, Eric Bischoff, and William Regal, to Mickey Thomas, Joey Jones, Phil Parkinson, Brian Flynn, Denis Smith, Gary Bennett, Karl Connolly, and Bryan Robson - and that's just the tip of an ever-expanding iceberg.
