5 Things We Learned From WWE Chronicle: Becky Lynch
1. She Loves Talking
These WWE Network documentaries, excellent though they are, cast so much shade on the company's way of running their TV production that it's a wonder they air at all.
Besides generally building characters up far greater than any bank of scriptwriters can manage from week to week, the latest one also expounds the virtues of the old school wrestling promo - in other words, the exact opposite of WWE's current philosophy.
Becky, in case it wasn't entirely obvious, points out that she loves "getting out there, doing media, running her mouth", before dissecting precisely how she can use her words to incite fervour amongst the crowd. It's the fundamentals of pro wrestling basically - something WWE have binned off in exchange for pre-ordained promos, read by rote regardless of reactions.
Evidently, Lynch is one of the few members of the roster allowed a certain degree of creative freedom in her segments, and what do you know, she's one of the company's most over stars. Funny, that.
