5 Things WWE Must Do With Bray Wyatt (And 5 They Mustn't)
4. Must - Balance The Character
… ”balance” is basically the watchword for this whole project. At the moment we don’t know exactly how Bray will be portrayed in his new run, but we’ve been given a few clues to go on.
The build up to his appearance saw his new stooges (maybe) dressed as the Firefly Funhouse creatures; there was a Fiend mask to be seen, and a panning shot through the Funhouse itself. This all feel pretty Fiend-y,
On the other hand, we got a chorus of “He’s Got The Whole World In His Hands”, and Wyatt himself looked (in the darkness) more like his original version, complete with lantern.
While most will agree that cult Bray was the best Bray, there’s no way The Fiend will be binned off wholesale, not least due to its incredibly merch-shifting qualities. So, a balance needs to be struck, between the more believable Max Cady-like swamp dweller and the fully crazy killer clown thing.
There were moments of genius in each version, after all, and if we don’t get to see at least one more Firefly Funhouse match, that would be a crying shame. Wrestling at its best is a variety show, after all…
