5 Ups & 2 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (April 4)
3. A Perfect 10

This time of year always brings roster changes, and while major new arrivals are usually restricted to the post-WrestleMania Raw, the brand split means SmackDown finally gets a share of the wealth. Monday saw The Revival arrive from NXT, but SD went one better last night, recruiting two major singles stars from WWE's celebrated developmental brand.
The first was Tye Dillinger, whose main roster call-up was long overdue. Having appeared in the 2017 Royal Rumble, Dillinger fell into a role as Sanity's personal whipping boy in the aftermath, and it looked like WWE had failed to capitalise on his incredible popularity. Fortunately, the company reversed that last night: Curt Hawkins hit the ring to cut a quick promo, Dillinger's music hit as soon as the phrase "count of 10" escaped Hawkins' lips, and two minutes later, Tye had squashed him.
A simple but effective introduction for the Perfect 10, who'll have a major role to play on SD's midcard. The show's middle tier is sorely lacking in bodies at the moment, and Dillinger's popularity and skill should see him become a mainstay in the Intercontinental Title picture. Here's hoping the Superstar Shake-up doesn't send Tye to Raw, because SmackDown desperately needs him.
