5 Ups & 3 Downs For AEW Collision (April 20 - Results & Review)
3. Spirited Tag Team Teaser
It may have felt a little low stakes ahead of Dynasty, but the Acclaimed and the Gunns put on a spirited, fired-up tag match on Collision. In particular, Anthony Bowens showed some great fire, even if the match ended in defeat for him and Max Caster.
The stakes of this one lie at Dynasty, where both the AEW Trios Titles and ROH Six-Man Titles are on the line in a winner-takes-all contest, but this Collision offering did just about enough to whet your appetite for that six-man bout without showing too much. Involvement from Billy Gunn and Jay White was kept to a minimum, bar Switchblade using his gold bat to allow Colten Gunn extra leverage to pin Caster, although one has to still question the logic of building towards a Jay White and Billy Gunn confrontation on PPV in 2024, of course...
This wasn't must-see, this wasn't any sort of all-timer of a tag match, but it was decent enough for the role it served. As in, it gave the villainous Bullet Club Gold an underhand win ahead of Dynasty.
In fairness, the sooner all of this is over the better, as both Bullet Club Gold and the Acclaimed and Daddy Ass desperately need to move on to something fresh once Dynasty is done and dusted.
