5 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Dark (Jun 30)

1. The Butcher and The Blade vs. Low Rida and Fuego Del Sol

The Butcher and The Blade's latest squash was ugly in all the wrong ways, as they literally flattened the indie-riffic Low Rida/Fuego Del Sol partnership.

This could have been great. Del Sol took a ridiculous bump off a tandem Biel Throw early on and it looked like we were in for another roughhouse Butcher and Blade victory. We got this in a way, though not through a safe, effective bludgeoning: it looked like Rida was legitimately hurt here.

The jobber looked wobbly after eating a big slam from Butcher, before Blade dropped him right on his head with a Back Drop Driver. Referee Aubrey Edwards probably should have stopped the match there. Rida was out of it and the rest of the match was hard to watch as a result, particularly as he kept taking punishment.

A badass finish saw Butcher no-shell Rida's kicks while Fuego was trapped in a Texas Cloverleaf, then transitioning into a Boston Crab for a swift submission. Good layout, good ideas, and big moves undone by the execution.
