5 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (1 May - Results & Review)

1. A Little Disappointing

Jay White Dante Martin
AEW

Jay White is one hell of a pro wrestler, but his AEW stint has been a little up and down since it started. He's capable of working bangers when given time, but some of his TV matches feel a little...disappointing. This latest scrap vs. Dante Martin was one of those. It never really got going before the finish.

As usual, AEW's ad break treatment gutted a significant chunk of the action and killed their flow. Strangely, that didn't seem to happen with any of the other bouts on the card, which leads this guy to ponder whether there was something up with the overall pacing. This pair never seemed too comfortable no matter what they were doing.

Martin didn't fly around with his human highlight reel panache, and White slowed things to a crawl without the cool back and forth air Kyle O'Reilly vs. Rocky Romero had later in the show. Yep, something was off about this entire match. It's one for both White and Martin to forget.

Bang (Bang Gang) average.
