5 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage: Fyter Fest Week One (July 15)

1. Messy Main Event

Private Party Lucha Bros
AEW

Referees need to start actually counting the illegal man during tag-team matches in this promotion, because things are getting ridiculous. Private Party vs. The Lucha Bros wasn't supposed to be a Tornado Tag, but it played out more like one than anything else.

There were a few rough spots and botches in there too.

Chris Jericho called it "one hell of a match", presumably 'cause it's his job to hype things up. In reality, the headliner was messy and very meh. This whole mask-stealing story between Andrade/Rush and Penta/Rey Fenix is terribly half-baked too.

AEW has produced some real tag-team classics during its first three years as a company. This wasn't one of them, and it's the kind of match that shows there's still a long way for Party to go before they belong in the upper echelons.

Some psychology would be lovely.
