5 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (July 29)

Downs...

3. Wardlow & Best Friends?

Wardlow Best Friends
AEW

No thanks to this.

Wardlow sprinted out to help Orange Cassidy, Chuck Taylor and Trent Beretta fend off Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt and the towering Satnam Singh following their six-man tag match. The reigning TNT Champ pointed a finger at Lethal, then posed with the Best Friends.

Seeing him out there with these guys was a bit of a buzz-killer for this fan. Sure, some will disagree, but the last thing Wardlow needs is to link up with some new mates. He needs TNT Title rivals who are worth the spot - playing nice with undercard comedy acts isn't the way to go.

It remains to be seen if this was a one off save for the hell of it or part of something bigger though. If AEW thinks they can squeeze (ahem) something out of a little man/big man comedy act like Orange and Wardlow at this delicate stage of the latter's career, then they need a reality check.
