NXT high-flyer Je'Von Evans looked magic vs. Sami Zayn, and he shone here again in tag action with Rey Fenix vs. Los Garza. You'd be forgiven for feeling they could’ve done even better with slightly more time too, but this was a snug TV match and the finishing stretch is well worth checking out if you like urgency and pinpoint accuracy.

Sure, you've got to feel slightly sorry for Fenix, ‘cause he’s turning into someone who’s spinning his wheels creativity. He’d also blatantly be little more than a bridesmaid to Je’Von on the main roster if they keep teaming, but the dude still puts on strong performances inside the ring. Finally, it's always nice to see Berto and Angel on SmackDown.

They’re criminally overlooked.

Booker T deserves credit for marvelling at Je'Von's flying and general style the way he did on commentary. The 5-time, 5-time, 5-time, 5-time, 5-time champ gets some heat for his announcing (there are those who have never liked and will never like him in this role), but he put across how exciting and dynamic Evans is. There were real, 'He's the future' vibes from Book on comms, and Michael Cole fed on that frenzied buzz.

This has been a watertight start to life on WWE's main roster for Je'Von. He should be chuffed with how things are going, and it's clear he's somebody with bags of potential. Sticking him in as a replacement for AEW new hire Andrade next to Fenix is a grand idea for now. It shouldn't be his long term goal, but it'll work for a few months at most.
