5 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Collision (11 May - Results & Review)

4. Fun Tag-Team Opener

Claudio Castagnoli Top Flight
AEW

Every wrestling promotion worth paying attention to knows the value of a hot tag-team opener. That works whether you're some local fed running shows in front of 50 fans or a worldwide powerhouse like WWE. People respond to zippy, well-worked tag wrestling. They always have and they always will.

Claudio and Bryan vs. Top Flight was a good time then.

Everyone tuning in knew the BCC lads would give Darius and Dante Martin plenty, and they did (including a few delicious near falls). Castagnoli and Danielson are comfy in their own skins, so they never get insecure or precious about giving opponents a lot during matches. That generous mentality makes their matches superior every time.

Top Flight have always shown potential, but it'd be sweet if they had actual characters to develop beyond the 'we're happy-go-lucky high flyers' thing. Still, they must've enjoyed tangling with world class grapplers like Claudio and Bryan here. The match was certainly a cracking watch!
