5 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Dynamite (2 Feb)

4. Rose Batters Soho

Nyla Rose Ruby Soho
AEW

One missed No Future near the end of the match aside, Ruby Soho vs. Nyla Rose was a good television match highlighted by a great heel performance from the latter.

Ruby started hot, trying to put Rose off her game but throwing her jacket at her and diving right into the action. This backfired - and Nyla started dropping bombs. A Samoan Drop taking Ruby off the top rope allowed Rose to slow things down, pouring cold water all over Ruby's fire, and with Nyla looking composed and dominant while in control, the bigger moves landed with greater heft.

The biggest of those were Ruby dropping Rose face-first onto the apron and Nyla's recovery via Spinebuster. Vickie Guerrero interjected soon after, putting Nyla's foot under the rope following the first No Future. Preoccupied with Nyla's manager, Ruby was downed by an ugly, snapping neckbreaker, then, after a top rope struggle, was felled by a Beast Bomb following a Swanton.

The win advance's Nyla's position ahead of what appears to be a run at Jade Cargill's TBS Title, though Vickie's involvement gives Ruby an out. Good booking, good outcome, good stuff.
