How do you conspire to book a program where Dan Lambert, whose promos use Attitude Era verbiage and who is supposed to represent the complete opposite of what AEW stands for, comes off less unlikeable than the babyfaces?
AEW has somehow done this twice now. From getting face pops opposite Brandi Rhodes a few weeks ago to somehow not coming off like the biggest scumbag onscreen here, the American Top Team leader has had quite the couple of months.
Real-life couple Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti are now paired up onscreen. That isn't a problem in and of itself, but the duo aren't exactly doing much to endear themselves to the crowd here. Being good-looking people who revel in the fact that they are good-looking people doesn't draw sympathy. Their fire in demanding a mixed tag team match featuring Paige VanZant didn't feel authentic either, meaning when Lambert, Scorpio Sky, and Ethan Page's braggadocio didn't land.
The kicker, though, is how the TNT Championship is now been handled.
As always, Eddie Kingston is dead right:-
Soooo a championships that is supposed to represent a lost friend........ pic.twitter.com/5aPSp4DMbP

Babyfaces are supposed to respect the championship, particularly this championship and who it represents. Bragging about what you do with it in the bedroom isn't cool, but obnoxious, puerile, and the kind of behaviour we should expect from Lambert.
Who is supposed to be the worst guy in this universe.
