5 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (Sept 16)
3. That Rugged Main Event
If you're a fan of that classic ROH style, then you'll appreciate this week's main event.
Samoa Joe relishes the chance to go out there with someone who'll hit him as hard as he hits them, and the MMA vibes Josh Woods added to the match really worked - Woods just comes across as a legit fighter when it matters, and that should serve him well in front of AEW crowds who love workrate.
Sure, the picture-in-picture ad break halfway through was irritating, but they're unavoidable. If only it hadn't come during Josh's heat section though, because seeing that full-screen would've helped make Joe's comeback stretch more impressive.
It's a minor gripe, to be fair. Rampage showcased another top headliner (following on from last week's Claudio Castagnoli vs. Dax Harwood banger), and that's all anyone can ask from a one-hour weekly. This was some good sh*t, ladies and gents.
