5 Ups & 4 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling (24 June)

2. Staying Out Of Beysiness

The tag team outing of Trey Miguel and Petey Williams vs. Rohit Raju and Shera was your standard X Division match. Miguel, Williams, and Raju's involvement allowed the action to be crisp and snappy, before Shera came in to slow the pace down towards the end. In short, it was a solid match that specifically highlighted Miguel and Raju ahead of 17 July.

Ending the match was Rohit's patented Mumbai Drive-By knee strike on Petey, which only came after Ace Austin and Madman Fulton had caused a minor distraction at ringside as Petey was setting up for the Canadian Destroyer. Following the bell is when things became interesting; the heel quartet laid waste to Petey, Trey, and Josh Alexander, all while Chris Bey watched from atop the stage, recording the whole thing on his phone.

This was a hoot. Forging an alliance ahead of a multi-man match is hardly anything new to wrestling fans, however, this worked because of the inclusion of Ace and Rohit's big beefy bodyguards. The only aspect your writer wasn't particularly keen on was the heel group standing tall over the babyfaces for the second week in a row, having decimated the good guys last Thursday as well. That aside, this was a solid bit of business.
