5 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE Raw (18 Mar - Results & Review)

Ups…

5. Judgment Day B-Team

Without explicitly saying it, the Judgment Day pretty much has evolved into an nWo-esque “Elite” and “B-Team”, even with only five members.

Champions Rhea Ripley, Damian Priest, and Finn Balor obviously are the elite members, while Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh are the comic relief of the group, the scrubs who get fed to everyone else and fail at nearly every turn. Last week, it was JD losing to Ricochet in the first part of the gauntlet match. Monday, it was Domnik’s turn to avenge that loss.

And Mysterio did what he does best: capitalize on a distraction to gain control briefly before falling to a more talented superstar. The match itself didn’t overstay its welcome, capitalizing on the crowd’s reactions to Dominik and finishing before fans could get bored.

It’s also interesting to note that Ripley doesn’t accompany Dom-Dom to the ring for his matches these days; McDonagh does. Will this lead to a fracturing of the group? Could Rhea finally grow tired of the dead weight that is her boyfriend and the square-headed goof? It’s quite possible. For now though, we’ll give passing marks to the Judgment Day B-Team.
