What was that about babyface logic?

Edge was booked to be in a foul mood from the off on SmackDown. He grilled Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville on why Daniel Bryan was potentially getting a Universal Title shot before him. Then, Mr. 'Rated-R' bumped into Dan later and heard his friend suggest that he couldn't beat Roman Reigns at 'Mania anyway.

All that context meant it made sense that Edge wouldn't rush to Bryan's aid when Roman and Jey Uso were kicking the crap out of him after the main event. If Daniel questions his pal's absence next week, then Edge can admit it was a punishment for Bryan's cheek. That's absolutely believable.

Faces don't always have to do the "right thing". They can be selfish, and they can be peeved when other characters they trusted say things about them that they don't like. That's how real human beings act in everyday life, which is not something WWE usually have an easy time putting across.
