5 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (May 6)

2. The Right Winners

Speaking of shining.

It was in WWE's best interests to keep the Sheamus/Ridge Holland team strong for the next babyface tag champs. Putting them over New Day was the right call, and the fact it happened by blasting them through tables added a little bit of spice to their act.

The challenge now will be finding something new for both squads to do. SmackDown's tag scene isn't exactly bursting with options for either side, at least not until creative decides who's getting the Undisputed prize between RK-Bro and The Usos.

If it's the former, then Sheamus/Holland would be fine as first challengers for Randy Orton and Riddle. Sheamus is unquestionably carrying the can for his team, but that was to be expected. Ridge deserves time to settle in and learn from his veteran teammate.
