5 Ups & 5 Downs For WWE Raw (29 Sept - Results & Review)
2. Los Dud
After continuing an interminable angle involving masked “luchadores” that never seems to go anywhere, El Grande Americano officially got company (rather than pop-up interference) when Los Americanos debuted (it’s debatable whether this is a better tag team name than New Catch Republic).
The Americanos, dubbed Bravo and Rayo (rather than Uno and Dos) faced off against best buddies AJ Styles and Dragon Lee in a match that went nowhere. Perhaps it was due to the masked superstars not wanting to give away any signature spots, but the action was dull and uninteresting until the closing sequence that saw Styles put one Americano down with a Phenomenal Forearm, and then catch a Dragon-assisted alley-oop of the other Americano and drop him with a Styles Clash for the win.
Who is this story supposed to be entertaining? El Grande’s relationship with Dominik Mysterio is intriguing, but everything else he and his cohorts do is yawn-inducing and seems like it will never have any meaning.
