4. Got To The Point Fast

As disappointing as the acting has been at times between Rhea Ripley, Iyo Sky, and the Kabuki Warriors, credit should be given that they got to the point relatively quickly and didn’t drag things out.

Last week, the Warriors turned on Iyo and attacked her to close out Raw, setting up this week’s interactions. Sky was initially hesitant, but a misting from Asuka sealed the deal, and Iyo declared herself ready to team with Rhea to challenge the Kabuki Warriors at Crown Jewel.

Obviously, there is going to be a point during that tag match where Asuka (or possibly Kairi Sane) will play on that longstanding friendship to make Iyo hesitate or rethink attacking them, and we’ll have to evaluate that on its merits on the night, but it was very smart to not drag out this realization from Sky. Dragging it out even over another week would have only made Iyo look indecisive and gullible.

Instead, Iyo tried to toe the line one last time, but when Asuka crossed it, Sky only needed to find Ripley to make it official that she wanted revenge. Good enough stuff here – now let’s hope the match doesn’t go for maximum drama and undo the goodwill.
