5 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Dark (Dec 1)
1. Scorpio Sky Gets Mean
The whole deal between Shawn Spears and Scorpio Sky on this show was very, very WWE, and exactly the kind of stuff AEW should be looking to avoid, even on Dark.
Sky came out to interrupt a bout between Spears and KTB. He had Shawn's metal slug in his hand (the one used to knock him out a few weeks ago) and sat on the stage, watching the bout. A cumbersome Sports Entertainment mini-slog played out in the ring, with Spears' attention constantly drifting towards Sky, before he eventually tapped KTB out with a Scorpio Death Lock.
Scorp hit the ring and drilled KTB with a TKO afterwards, then walked away from an interview with Alex Marvez later on.
A new direction for the SoCal Uncensored man, who is out to demonstrate that he can get down to Spears' level, but this kind of angle is too contrived to invest in here. It'd be bad if it played out on Raw or SmackDown and it was bad here as well.
