5 Ups & 5 Downs From Impact Wrestling (26 Jan)

1. That Little Rascal

Impact Wrestling

Trey Miguel has returned to Impact Wrestling.

Being the surprise partner of Rich Swann, Willie Mack, and Tommy Dreamer in their main event victory over Sami Callihan, Ken Shamrock, Chris Bey, and Moose, 'The Fresh Prince of Mid-Air' has slotted back into the picture perfectly. His use in the match was tactical; he simply wasn't tagged in until later on in the bout. He's as fresh as a daisy anyway, but when he's been on the apron for the duration of the contest, there's no getting past his high-flying nature.

As a whole, the match was excellent. The storytelling of Willie Mack's weakened leg as the match progressed, the teamwork of Rich Swann and Tommy Dreamer despite their World Championship clash on 13 February, and Moose using Chris Bey as a weapon via a powerbomb (even though he connected more with the mat rather than the opponent in question) all added together to make a classic main event. In traditional multi-man fashion, things broke down, everyone had a signature move party, and Miguel scored the three count with a rollup on 'The Draw'.

What's intriguing here is that, in a post-show bit posted to Impact's Twitter account, Shamrock actually laid out Callihan. The Hall of Famer had already targeted referee Brandon Tolle's ankle immediately after the match, but laying out his pal perhaps hints at a split between the two. Shamrock is well and truly back to the Ken Shamrock of old, and so he doesn't really need Callihan's assistance anymore.

All in all, this was hectic in the best way possible. Where Trey Miguel goes from here now that he's back in the Impact Zone remains to be seen, but knowing the Rascalz man, he'll only go up from here.
